Sir,
I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the instant and to acquaint you, in reply, with the information of Earl Grey that the present Requisition for Stationery required for the service of the Government of Hong Kong for the year ending 31st March 1849 falls very considerably short of that supplied in the Year 1847, more especially in the undermentioned Articles.
